Volunteering With Project Outpour
Volunteers are vital to carrying out our mission. Serving our neighbors in need wouldn’t be possible without them…without you! We offer both individual and small-group opportunities.
Sign up to join us during shower hours to engage with guests and help maintain a clean environment. We work outside, rain or shine, so please dress for the weather. Closed-toe shoes are recommended. Approximately 2 – 3 volunteers are ideal per shift. Responsibilities include:
- Welcoming and engaging with guests in a personable and authentic way
- Cleaning showers between uses and organizing the trailer area
- Providing guests with the supplies they need to shower
Join us and host a Hygiene Supply Drive:
- Hosting a hygiene supply drive for the essential items our neighbors use daily. (Note: we have a specific list of needs)
If you aren’t able to join us on-site, other opportunities for individuals and groups include:
- Washing / deep cleaning our shower trailer
- Team-based service activations/Employee Engagement
- Hosting a fundraiser
- Serving on our Board of Directors
While we encourage children to get involved in their community at a young age, being on-site for shower service may be inappropriate for some children. We cannot be held responsible for anything a guest may do or say. Due to the nature of our work, young adults (12-17 years old) are invited to serve our guests under the supervision of a parent or guardian who is on-site for the duration of their volunteer service. This volunteer opportunity is not ideal for children under the age of 11.

Host a Drive
This opportunity is perfect for groups, corporations, or individuals who may not be available during our service hours.
Items We Use and Distribute Daily (Updated 1/1/2026)
- Men’s boxer briefs (Small-2XL)
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste (travel size)
- Deodorant (travel size)
- Lotion (travel size)
- Razors
- Foot powder
- Hand sanitizer (travel size)
- Q-tips
- Body Wipes (individually wrapped)
- Drawstring bags
- Tissue (travel size)
- Feminine hygiene products
- Gallon size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash
The following items will always be needed:
- Gift cards to purchase gas for the truck
- Laundry detergent (pods or travel-size packs)
- Women’s cotton underwear (sizes 5-12)
- Men’s boxer briefs (S, M, L, & XL)
- OTC meds (Pain relief and allergy)
- Hand warmers
- Bug repellent wipes
- Sunscreen
All donated items should be new, unless otherwise noted. The list above is an extensive list of everything we need. Because our office is on wheels, storage space is limited. To maintain safety, organization, and quality service for our neighbors, we are only able to accept the items listed above.
We sincerely appreciate all donation offers, but the following are items of which we currently have an abundance or cannot use:
- Hotel-size shampoo; conditioner, soap/bar soap – we use gallon sizes to fill dispensers in the showers
- Socks – we have an amazing sock partner in Bombas and they provide all of the socks we need
- Children and adult clothing – as we grow our needs must be aligned with our neighbors needs.
We’re happy to come speak to your group about our mission and how donations will be used. Once all items are collected, we’ll arrange a meetup.
